Regarding equality, the Buddha taught that all sentient beings possess the intrinsic wisdom of the Buddha, and that, in teaching his monastic disciples, when one was willing to leave the household life to practice the path one could become an arhat, whether one was a man or a woman. On the issue of shared rights, the Buddha taught that every person has the same human dignity and everybody is equal, although they may be receiving different education and are assigned different tasks.
